¨      It is requested that all fighters have an inspiration for the day.

Challenges and the Lyst

There shall be six rounds in the Lyst

¨      Round 1: The Duel

o   The duel is set for first blood.

o   Winning by non-fatal blow, the winner will receive 4 écu. Winning by fatal blow, the winner will receive 2 écu. A double non-fatal shot will result in 1 écu given to each duelist. A double fatality and a loss will afford the combatants no écu this day.

¨      Round 2: The Attempted Arrest (Melee)

o   There will be two teams, blue and red. All fighters will pull from the bag one blue or red colored arm band.

o   If the Musketeers successfully evade arrest by defeating the Cardinal’s Guard, or the Cardinal’s Guard successfully take in the fugitive Musketeers (dead or alive), each member of the triumphant team, dead or alive, shall be awarded 3 écu. To each member who is still alive, without wound, 1 additional écu will be awarded.

¨      Round 3: Collecting a Feast

o   During this round there will be a table on the field and upon that table various food and drink items. There will also be two barrels at opposite corners of the field. Each fighter may try and collect items from the table putting them in their barrel.

o   Remember that the fighting is a distraction and because of this no items can be “liberated” once the fighting has stopped.

o   The victor of the staged fight will receive 3 écus plus an écu for each item pilfered, except for the bottle of wine, which is worth 2 écus. The unfortunate one shall receive no écus.

¨      Round 4: Intercepting the Treaty

o   This will be a “walk the plank” type of round. The boundary will be marked by six fence slats. Stepping upon or outside of the fence slats will be as if stepping incorrectly and falling off the beam.

o   Defeating the deckhand by a fatal blow and successfully intercepting the treaty the victor will be awarded 4 écus. Defeating the deckhand by forcing him off the beam or by dismemberment, the victor will be awarded 2 écus.

¨      Round 5: The Musketeers and Cardinal’s Guards Meet Again (Melee)

o   If the Musketeers successfully get past the Cardinal’s Guard, or the Cardinal’s Guard successfully fight off the fugitive Musketeers (dead or alive), each member of the triumphant team, dead or alive, shall be awarded 3 écu. To each member who is still alive, without wound, 2 additional écus will be awarded.

¨      Round 6: Save the King!

o   The victor who saves the King from the Cardinal’s vile show of power will receive 5 écus. To do so with a fatal blow will reward the victor 2 additional écus. To do so with a non-fatal blow (dismemberment) an additional 1 écu will be awarded.

Glorious Prizes Shall Be Awarded For the One Who has the Most écus.
